Undertale alternate universes (AUs) are fan-made retellings of Toby Fox's 2015 game that change one big thing about the Underground: the monsters are cruel (Underfell), the roles are swapped (Underswap), the story happens in space (Outertale), or the fallen human never spared anyone (Dusttale, Horrortale). A strong AU name tells readers the twist in one word. Frozentale promises ice, Mafiatale promises the mob, Aftertale promises consequences. Pick a theme word that is short, easy to spell in a fanfic tag, and not already claimed by a well-known AU, then attach the suffix that best matches your tone.
