ThunderClan Name Generator

ThunderClan is the forest Clan of Erin Hunter's Warriors series, and its names reflect where its cats hunt: beneath oaks and brambles, among ferns and bracken, chasing mice, squirrels and thrushes. The prefix of a ThunderClan name is almost always something a kit could see from the nursery, such as Bramble, Squirrel, Fern, Holly, Thorn, Dust or Sorrel, while the suffix describes the grown cat: -claw and -fang for fighters, -heart and -fur for steady warriors, -leaf and -pool for healers, -flight, -leap and -wing for the quick ones.

The canon roster gives you the feel of it. Firestar, Bluestar, Bramblestar and Squirrelstar are leaders; Graystripe, Sandstorm, Dustpelt and Brackenfur are the classic forest warriors; Leafpool, Jayfeather and Alderheart are medicine cats; Lionblaze, Cinderheart, Ivypool and Bristlefrost carry the later arcs. Notice how few ThunderClan cats are named for water, wind or marsh: those belong to RiverClan, WindClan and ShadowClan.

For an original ThunderClan cat, pick a woodland prefix, then choose the suffix for who the cat becomes. Apprentices take -paw, kits take -kit, and a leader swaps the suffix for -star on receiving nine lives. Mix in a few bird and prey names (Thrushpelt, Robinwing, Mousewhisker) so your Clan does not read as all trees and leaves.
