Terraria Name Generator

Terraria never tells you what to call your character, but the game itself has a strong naming voice worth borrowing. Every town NPC picks a name from a hidden pool that fits their personality: the Guide is a plain Andrew or Wilson, the Merchant is a stuffy Alfred or Mortimer, the Wizard is a grandiose Xylophius or Zaphrophius, the Demolitionist has dwarf-style names like Dolgrim and Urist, and the Goblin Tinkerer answers to Grodax or Nuxatk. Using or riffing on those pools makes a player character feel like they belong in the same world.

The other common approach is thematic. Terraria's progression gives you a huge vocabulary of ores (Copper through Luminite), biomes (Crimson, Hallow, Glowing Mushroom), bosses (Skeletron, Plantera, Moon Lord) and iconic weapons (Terra Blade, Zenith, Meowmere, Last Prism). A good themed name pairs one of these with a short human name or a role, which is why handles like Chlorophyte Chase, Fishron Fiona or Zenith Zara read naturally on a multiplayer server.

Character names are capped at 20 characters and can include spaces, so anything from a single NPC-style name to a three-word title fits. Many players give each save a name that reflects its rules (Hardcore Hazel, Master Mode Marv) so they can tell characters apart at a glance in the selection menu.
