Star Wars Sith Name Generator

Sith names in Star Wars follow two traditions. The one everyone knows is the Darth title, taken by a Sith Lord to mark the death of their old self. Palpatine became Darth Sidious, Anakin became Darth Vader, and Dooku became Darth Tyranus. The words after Darth are usually a twisted or shortened Latin or English root that hints at the character: Sidious from insidious, Tyranus from tyrant, Plagueis from plague, Maul from the weapon, Bane from ruin, Nihilus from nothingness. That is the recipe most fans use, and it works because it sounds threatening without spelling anything out.

The older tradition belongs to the ancient Sith of Korriban and Ziost, before Darth was even a title. Names like Marka Ragnos, Naga Sadow, Tulak Hord, Ajunta Pall, and Ludo Kressh have a harsh, consonant-heavy sound with hard K, R, and S clusters and short vowels. Knights of the Old Republic and SWTOR expanded this with a Lord or Lady honorific placed before a two-part name.

When creating an original Sith, pick a root that describes the character's flaw or hunger, mangle it until it stops looking like a dictionary word, and check that it still hisses when said out loud. Two syllables after Darth is the sweet spot; three works for the grandiose.
