Pathfinder Halfling Name Generator

Pathfinder halflings do not sound like Shire hobbits. The Core Rulebook's sample names set the house style: Antal, Boram, Evan, Jamir, Kaleb, Lem, Miro and Sumak for men; Anafa, Bellis, Etune, Filiu, Lissa, Marra, Rillka, Sistra and Yamyra for women. They are one or two syllables, soft-edged, and carry a faintly Central European or Near Eastern ring rather than pastoral English. Lem, the iconic bard, goes by a single name, and many Golarion halflings do the same.

Surnames depend on where a halfling grew up. Halflings raised in Cheliax, where many are still enslaved, often carry Chelaxian or Taldane family names inherited from a household or chosen on escape, while Bellflower Network tillers use code names on the road. Andoran and Varisian halflings favour plain trade and place surnames (Cooper, Millbrook, Ashgrove) or homely compounds like Laria Longroad, the Kintargo coffeehouse owner from Hell's Rebels. Nomadic halflings take road-names such as Three-Rivers or Far-Walker, and the Song'o of the Mwangi Expanse use Mwangi-flavoured names with nothing English about them.
