Golarion's gnomes are descended from the First World, and Paizo writes their names to sound a little alien next to the cozy tinkerer names of other settings. The sample list in the Player Core runs Abroshtor, Bastargre, Halungalom, Krolmnite, Neji, Majet, Pai, Poshment, Queck, Trig, Zarzuket and Zatqualmie: three- and four-syllable names with unexpected clusters (shtr, lmn, zq) sit beside clipped single syllables, and there is no male or female pattern to speak of. Gnomes also care little for family names, so a surname, when one exists, is usually descriptive, a joke, or a souvenir of some adventure.

The other thing to know is that a gnome's name is not fixed. The rules text says names change and grow over a lifetime, and many gnomes pick up a fresh one after a vivid experience, which matters to a people who fight the Bleaching by chasing novelty. That is why this list includes epithets like Nightbleach, Firstlight and Neverdull alongside invented polysyllables, color-names in the vein of the Bleachling-obsessed, and full names with odd second parts for gnomes who collected one along the way.
