Palia's villagers have names that feel friendly and lived-in rather than high-fantasy. Look at Kilima and Bahari Bay: Hodari, Najuma, Subira, Jina, and Eshe are real Swahili names; Badruu and Hassian lean Arabic; Einar and Hekla are Norse and Icelandic; Elouisa, Delaila, Caleri, Chayne, Tish, and Reth are soft inventions that sound like they could come from anywhere.
