Minecraft Villager Name Generator

Villagers have no names in vanilla Minecraft, which is exactly why players give them some. A name tag renamed on an anvil and right-clicked onto a villager makes the name float over its head and, usefully, stops it despawning, so most of the names people pick do a job. In a trading hall the name tells you what the villager sells: Mending Marvin is the librarian with the Mending book, Silk Touch Sally has the pickaxe enchant, Fortune Felix, Unbreaking Ulrich and Protection Percy mark the other stalls. Outside the hall, names tend to be jokes about how villagers behave: Hmm, Mr. Hrm, Bignose, Nosey, Price Gouger Gus and Prices Up Pat.

The thirteen professions are the easiest naming hook, so this list gives several for each: farmer, fisherman, shepherd, fletcher, librarian, cleric, cartographer, armorer, weaponsmith, toolsmith, butcher, leatherworker, mason, plus the jobless nitwits. Villager clothes change with biome too, so desert villagers get names like Dune and Cactus Jack, snowy ones Frosty and Ivan the Igloo Builder, savanna ones Acacia Abe, taiga ones Spruce Sven.

The rest of the list covers zombie villagers (Zom Bob, Cured Curtis), wandering traders and their llamas, baby villagers, and the old-fashioned names that just feel right on a robed, unibrowed NPC: Ebenezer, Mildred, Bartholomew, Cletus, Winifred.
