Hideo Kojima names characters like nobody else in games, and his habits are easy to learn. The most famous formula is weapon or trait plus animal: Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Decoy Octopus, with the Snake line (Solid, Liquid, Naked, Venom) at the centre. Even the mechs follow suit: REX, RAY, Shagohod.
