JoJo Name Generator

Hirohiko Araki names JoJo's Bizarre Adventure characters by a few rules that fans learn quickly. The first is the JoJo pun: every protagonist's name can be shortened to 'JoJo', from Jonathan Joestar and Joseph Joestar through Jotaro Kujo (the 'jo' hides in the kanji), Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna (GioGio in Italian), Jolyne Cujoh, Johnny Joestar and Jodio Joestar. The second is Araki's love of Western music. Nearly every Stand is named for a band, album or song: Star Platinum, Killer Queen, King Crimson, Gold Experience, Sticky Fingers, Sex Pistols, Whitesnake, Made in Heaven, Tusk. Villains and side characters get names from musicians too, such as Vanilla Ice, Steely Dan, Devo, Ringo Roadagain and Axl RO.

Each Part also has its own extra flavour. Part 3 uses tarot cards for Stands (Hermit Purple, Magician's Red, The World). Part 5's Passione gangsters are named after Italian food: Bruno Bucciarati, Pannacotta Fugo, Risotto Nero, Prosciutto, Melone, Ghiaccio. Part 4 has fashion designers (Yoshikage Kira from Kira Imai, Rohan Kishibe), and Part 6 leans on prisons and Florida. Part 7 uses American surnames and Westerns.

The list above splits roughly between character names and Stand names from every Part, so you can pull a Joestar-line hero, an Italian-food antagonist, or a rock-band Stand depending on what your OC needs.
