Haranir Name Generator

The Haranir are the new allied race of World of Warcraft: Midnight, a reclusive people from Harandar, the hidden forest realm tucked into Quel'Thalas, who are bound to the living roots of the land. Their look, bark-toned skin, antler-like growths and faintly glowing root lines, calls for names that feel grown rather than forged. The race name itself sets the template: three soft syllables, an open a sound, and a gentle -ir ending. Good Haranir names follow that pattern with breathy consonants (h, th, sh, v, r) and earthy vowels instead of the hard k and z sounds of trolls or the French polish of the Nightborne.

Two structures work well. Flowing single names such as Tharenil, Ohmara or Ilvanir suit most characters, and an apostrophe after the first syllable (Vesh'rah, Sel'thari, Tor'vahl) gives a name a ritual, old-tongue feel, as though it were spoken by a root elder. Keep apostrophes to one per name; two starts to read as a troll or orc name. Endings such as -eth, -ara, -hal, -une and -esh keep the names in the same family without making them interchangeable.
