Dracthyr are the soldier-race Neltharion engineered on the Dragon Isles, and their names sit somewhere between the great dragon aspects and something colder and more military. Canon Dracthyr like Emberthal, Cindrethresh, Sarkareth, Viridia, and Azurathel show the pattern: many names open with a root that hints at a flight color (Ember, Cinder, Azur, Virid) and close with a hissing draconic suffix such as -thal, -reth, -thresh, -athel, or -ith. Unlike true dragons, Dracthyr never use the flight suffixes -strasza, -gos, -dormu, or -rion, so a name like Azurathel reads as Dracthyr while Azuregos reads as blue dragon.

Good Dracthyr names have hard consonants and sibilants: k, th, x, z, and sz appear constantly, and the overall effect should sound like a claw dragging on stone. Female Dracthyr names often end in -a, -ia, or -ra (Viridia, Kalithra, Vaelthra), while male names lean toward -eth, -akh, and -ix, though the race is not strict about it.
