Godly Name Generator

A godly name is rarely just a name. In every real tradition, worshippers attached an epithet that told you which face of the god they were calling on: Zeus Xenios for guests, Zeus Horkios for oaths, Zeus Keraunios for the thunderbolt. Odin has more than two hundred recorded names, from All-Father to Grimnir the Hooded to Bolverkr the Evil-Worker. Egyptian gods stacked titles like Osiris Foremost of the Westerners, and Hindu deities carry a thousand names each, recited in litany. The name plus title is the native format of divinity.

That is why this generator returns names in three shapes: an invented name with an epithet (Aurelion the Dawnforged), an authentic mythological pairing (Athena Parthenos, Thor Hammer-Wielder), and title-only names for gods whose true names are secret or lost (The Sleeper Beneath, The Hollow King). The last style is especially useful for cosmic horror, mystery cults, or a setting where speaking a god's name is forbidden.

To make an epithet land, keep it concrete: a body part, a tool, a place, a deed. Ox-Eyed, One-Handed, Earth-Shaker, and Sacker of Cities are all physical and specific, and that is what makes them feel like real worship rather than fantasy decoration.
