Emo Rap Name Generator

Emo rap names come from the collision of two scenes, and the best ones keep both halves visible. From rap they take the tag: Lil, Yung, Baby, Kid, or a first name with a descriptor bolted on. From emo and pop-punk they take the vocabulary of heartbreak, funerals, bedrooms, pills and rain. Put them together and you get Lil Heartworm, Yung Tearjerker, Sad Frank or Crybaby Casanova, names that sound like a diary entry read over an 808. The mood is sad but a little glamorous, closer to a wilted prom corsage than a horror film.

A second family of names is typographic, because most of the scene was born on SoundCloud and the handle became the stage name: all-lowercase phrases (sleptinthecar, nobodycalledback), dollar signs and doubled letters ($uffer $unday, Deadd Rosez), vowels swapped for x (hxllowboy), and .tape or .flac endings. A third is the single coined or borrowed word for sadness itself: Drowse, Hiraeth, Saudade, Lachryma, Threnody, which reads artier and travels well on a streaming profile.

This list mixes all three plus full persona names like Casey Coffin and Dolly Dread and phrase names like Bury Me Slow and Flowers At The Gate. Everything is original and written to avoid existing artists, but handles disappear fast, so search Spotify, SoundCloud and Instagram before you commit.
