Bully Name Generator

A good bully name tells you who is about to shove someone into a locker before they open their mouth. Fiction has trained audiences to hear certain sounds as threatening: hard, one-syllable first names (Biff, Butch, Brock, Rex, Tank), blunt plosive surnames (Tannen, Brodsky, Pruitt, Haskins), and nicknames that describe either a body or a habit (Moose, Knuckles, Bruiser, Scab). Mean girls work the opposite way, with polished, aspirational names that signal money and status: Regina George, Heather Chandler, Tiffany Blaire, Madison Kingsley. The cruelty is in the contrast between the pretty name and the behaviour.

This generator mixes those archetypes. You will find classic schoolyard toughs, jocks and their hangers-on, rich-kid preppies in the Derby Harrington mould, greasers and townies with Italian and Irish surnames, queen bees and their cliques, and a block of pure nicknames and crew names for when the character is only ever referred to as "Rhino". Well-known fictional bullies from film, TV, comics and games are included as reference points so you can calibrate your own character against the tradition.

Use the names for short stories, coming-of-age novels, comics, D&D backstories or a school-set campaign. The most memorable bullies usually get one soft detail too; the name sets the expectation and you get to break it.
