Boxer Name Generator

Boxer names follow a format you can see on any fight poster: given name, ring nickname in quotes, surname. Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao, Tyson "The Gypsy King" Fury and Naoya "The Monster" Inoue all fit the template. Occasionally the nickname goes first ("Sugar" Ray Robinson, "Iron" Mike Tyson, "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler), and a few fighters are so well known that the nickname replaces the name entirely (Canelo, GGG, Chocolatito). Mexican boxers carry Spanish nicknames like El Terrible, Dinamita or El Alacran; British fighters lean on alliteration and cheek ("The Hayemaker," "Bomber" Bellew, "Prince" Naseem); Eastern Europeans get hard, mechanical nicknames ("Krusher," "Dr. Ironfist"); and American fighters split between swagger ("Showtime," "Pretty Boy") and menace ("Bombs Away," "The Hitman"). Golden-age fighters from the 1920s to 1950s used long, newspaper-style epithets: "The Manassa Mauler," "The Brown Bomber," "Will o' the Wisp."
