Blue is unusual among colors: most languages did not have a word for it until late, so names that literally mean blue are rarer than names meaning red or gold. Blue stars like Vega, Rigel and Spica and blue places like Capri, Santorini and Tahoe round out the list.

Pick by register. Baby names should be pronounceable and have a real meaning you can tell the child; pets and characters can take bolder choices like Cobalt, Tardis or Blue Bayou; brands want one short, ownable word.
