Kentaro Miura built Berserk on a stripped-down, medieval-European foundation, and the names reflect it. Most humans carry short, blunt Western names that could pass for real fifteenth-century Europeans: Guts, Casca, Judeau, Corkus, Rickert, Gaston, Serpico. Nobles get slightly grander forms and family names (Farnese de Vandimion, Adon Coborlwitz), and knights and lords are often known by an epithet, such as the White Hawk, the Black Swordsman, or Wyald of the Black Dog Knights. The Kushan Empire pulls from Indian and Persian roots (Ganishka, Silat, Daiba, Rakshas), which sets it apart from Midland the moment a character is introduced.

Apostles and the God Hand follow different rules. Their names sound older and stranger: Zodd, Grunbeld, Rosine, Locus, Irvine, and the five God Hand, Void, Slan, Ubik, Conrad, and Femto. Many were ordinary humans whose names stayed with them, so an Apostle name can be as simple as a single hard word, sometimes paired with a title like the Immortal or the Count.

A good Berserk-style name is short, easy to say, and free of high-fantasy frills. Avoid apostrophes and elvish sounds; think of the roll call of a mercenary company. The list here mixes canon characters, original mercenary and noble names in the same Germanic and Old English register, Kushan names for the East, and a set of epithets and place names for titles, keeps, and companies.
