Beastman names owe their sound to Warhammer Fantasy, where the Children of Chaos are goat-headed gors led by beastlords such as Khazrak One-Eye, Gorthor and Malagor the Dark Omen. The template is a short, throat-scraping given name built on Kh-, Gh-, Gr-, Ur- and Zh- sounds with a hard stop at the end (-ak, -gor, -ul, -oth, -rakh), followed by an epithet the herd has earned for its chief: One-Eye, Four-Horn, Split-Horn, the Unclean. Bray-shamans take titles about omens and herdstones, while ungors and runts get contemptuous one-syllable names like Snik or Grub.

Outside Warhammer, beastmen are any animal-headed humanoids, and different beast-kin suit different sounds. Bull and boar folk take heavy, blunt names; wolf-kin and cat-kin in anime and JRPG settings usually carry a Norse or Celtic-flavored given name plus a pelt, fang or paw surname (Fenrik Ashmane, Sorcha Brindlepaw). Female beastmen in Warhammer-style herds are rare, so give them weight with mother or doe titles.

The best beastman name tells you what the creature did to earn it. Choose a given name you can bellow in one breath, add an epithet or herd name that hints at a deed or a deformity, and never polish it: if it sounds civilized, it is not a beastman.
