Attack Name Generator

A good attack name tells the player what the move does and how it feels before the animation finishes. Most follow one of a few structures: an element plus a verb-noun (Thunder Strike, Frost Bite), a creature or figure plus a body part or action (Dragon's Fury, Tiger Knee), a technique label plus a poetic subtitle (Iaido: Silent Cicada, Snipe: Heartseeker), or a single evocative word for finishers (Cataclysm, Checkmate, Overkill). Fighting games favour short, shoutable names, JRPGs escalate through tiers (Fire, Fira, Firaga; Cross Slash to Omnislash), and anime techniques stack adjectives to signal power level, as in Heaven-Splitting Divine Blade.

The list groups names loosely by role. Physical strikes and weapon arts come first, followed by elemental spells, dark and poison effects, space and time magic, beast-style techniques, mythic invocations named for gods and summons, and finally ultimates and finishers whose names borrow from music, chess and executions. Mix tiers within one character's kit so a basic Piercing Thrust builds toward a screen-clearing Sevenfold Meteor Requiem.

When inventing your own, match syllable count to speed. A two-syllable name suits a jab or dash; a long title with a colon belongs to a charged super. Verbs like rend, cleave, sunder and pierce imply cutting; crush, slam and break imply blunt force; and nouns like lance, arrow and bolt read as ranged.
