"Alt" covers the whole alternative umbrella, from alt girls and alt boys on TikTok to grunge, e-girl, skater, punk and trad-goth crossovers, and the names people adopt for it follow a recognizable pattern. Chosen first names are short, nature-or-night flavored and often gender-neutral: Wren, Salem, Vesper, Rook, Moth, Ash, Nyx, Juniper.
