Agar.io names have one hard rule: the nick box takes 15 characters and silently cuts the rest, so everything on this list is short. Within that limit there are a few distinct traditions. The oldest is the skin name. In free-for-all mode, typing certain names (Doge, Wojak, Sir, Moon, Earth, Mars, Nyan, Pokerface, Bait, plus dozens of country names like Brazil, Germany and Usa) paints that image on your cell, and many players still pick a country just to get the flag.

The second tradition is the bait or alibi name. Because other players read your name before deciding whether to chase you, names like Feed Me, Free Mass, Im Small, Dont Eat Me, Trust Me and Team? manipulate the lobby, while Split Me and Press W taunt anyone who knows the mechanics. Meme and cell puns (Cellfie, Blob Ross, Sir Eatsalot, Big Chungus, Amogus) are there to make the leaderboard funny, since the top ten names are visible to everyone in the room.

Finally there are the tryhard names: clan tags like Tyt, small-caps unicode (ᴅᴀʀᴋ, sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ), symbol brackets (꧁Void꧂, ☠Killer☠) and accented letters (Ghøst, Nïnja). They signal a skilled splitter and look sharp in the top-left leaderboard. Mix and match: a 10-character name leaves room for a symbol or two.
