Shaman names in World of Warcraft follow the race first and the class second, but the class leaves fingerprints. The archetype is orcish: Thrall, Drek'Thar, Ner'zhul and Rehgar Earthfury set the pattern of a short, hard given name (Grom, Durag, Kargra) followed by a surname earned from the elements or the ancestors: Earthfury, Stormhowl, Windtotem, Wolfbrother. Tauren shamans use soft, open Plains-flavored names like Hamuul, Tahu or Nayeli with hoof-and-sky surnames (Thunderhorn, Cloudrunner, Stormhoof), and Highmountain and Bloodtotem tauren keep the same shape. Trolls and Zandalari split names with an apostrophe (Zul'kar, Jin'thora, Sen'jin) and rarely bother with a surname at all.

Alliance shamans sound different again. Draenei like Nobundo and Tuulani use doubled vowels and long, rolling names; Wildhammer and Dark Iron dwarves take Norse names with Stormbrew, Thunderbrand or Flameforge attached; Kul Tirans favor old English given names with tidesage surnames such as Tidecaller and Saltstorm; goblin shamans bolt Sparkz or Zizzle onto something mechanical; pandaren use one-syllable Chinese-style names with brew and paw compounds; vulpera keep it short and sandy.

In game you only get one word, so pick the given name as your character name and save the surname for roleplay, your guild note or a title.
