Minecraft World Name Generator

A Minecraft world name is the first thing you see on the singleplayer screen and the last thing anyone remembers when they talk about a save, so it is worth choosing something better than New World (3). The best names fall into a few families: place names built from Minecraft blocks and biomes (Redstone Ridge, Deepslate Depths, Cherry Grove Haven), fictional settlements that sound like they belong on a map (Blockhaven, Frostholm, New Blockholm), and jokes that capture how the world will actually be played (Never Say Dig Down, One Life Left, World Number 47).

Match the name to the kind of world you are starting. Hardcore runs suit ominous or defiant names; cozy survival worlds suit village and cottage-style names; creative build worlds are usually named for the project itself, like Medieval Kingdom Build or Steampunk Skyport. Multiplayer SMP worlds often get a season label or a shared theme name that becomes the server's identity, which is why so many are called Origins SMP or Season One.

Keep the name short enough to read at a glance in the world list, and remember that it does not have to match your seed. Renaming later is possible from the Edit World menu, but the folder name is set on creation, so pick something you will still like a hundred hours in.
