TADC Name Generator

The Amazing Digital Circus, Gooseworx and Glitch Productions' web series about humans trapped in a garish virtual big top, gives its cast names that sound like toys pulled out of a chest. Pomni is a jester whose name plays on pom-pom; Ragatha is a ragdoll (rag plus Agatha); Gangle is a gangly ribbon puppet; Kinger and Queenie are chess pieces; Zooble is a mismatched build-your-own toy; Jax is a jack-in-the-box rabbit; and Caine, the ringmaster AI, is a set of chattering teeth. Names are short, usually two syllables, and hint at what the character's digital body is made of.

A good TADC OC name follows the same trick: pick the object, fabric or game your character is built from and squash it into something that sounds like a nickname. Sock puppets become Sockey or Stitches, a slinky becomes Springo, an arcade token becomes Plinko. Ending in -ie, -y or -le keeps it cute and slightly off, which suits a show where cheerful visuals hide dread and abstraction. Names of NPCs from Caine's adventures, like Gummigoo, the Gloink Queen and Ghostwood, are goofier and more descriptive.
