Smiling Critters Name Generator

The Smiling Critters are the plush mascot line from Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, and their names follow a very specific in-universe formula. Each critter is an animal paired with an alliterative or rhyming trait, usually squashed into one CamelCase word: DogDay, CatNap, KickinChicken, PickyPiggy, CraftyCorn. The longer ones use a first name plus a mashed-up surname (Bobby BearHug, Bubba Bubbaphant, Hoppy Hopscotch). Every canon critter also has a signature virtue or feeling attached to it, like DogDay's optimism or CatNap's sleepiness, so a good OC name hints at a personality as much as a species.

When creating your own critter, start with the animal, then choose one word that captures its quirk and make it alliterate or rhyme. Compress it (SnoozeSloth) or split it into a name-and-surname pair (Nelly NapNose) depending on how the canon character you're echoing is styled. Because the toys are pitched at children in-universe, names should sound like something printed on a Playtime Co. box: sweet, bouncy, and slightly saccharine, which is exactly what makes them unsettling later.
