Skincare product names have a grammar. Most follow the pattern [hero ingredient or benefit] + [product type]: Hyaluronic Plumping Serum, Ceramide Cushion Cream, Charcoal Detox Mask. Big brands add a proper name or number for a hero product (Protini, Ampoule No. 5, Sleep Mask No. 3), while minimalist brands strip it back to the ingredient and concentration (Hyaluronic Acid 2%) or even just the category (The Serum, The Cream). K-beauty gave us the texture-first name (Water Cream, Cloud Cleanser, Bubble Mask, Souffle Cream), and Gen Z brands favor playful benefit names (Glow Juice, Dew Bomb, Wide Awake Eye Gel).

The key rule is that a product name should tell the customer what it is and what it does in three to five words. Ingredient names (Rosehip Glow Oil, Snow Mushroom Serum) work when the ingredient is a selling point; benefit names (Barrier Repair Cream, Blemish Rescue Gel) work when the customer is shopping by problem; texture names (Whipped Cleanser, Jelly Mask) sell the experience. Sunscreens should always include the SPF number.
