'Night Watchman Crane' is a lone figure with a lantern; 'Loss Prevention Officer Briggs' works retail; 'Site Supervisor Kessler' runs a contract crew; 'Head of Security Vance' answers to a board. For Victorian or gaslamp fiction, reach for watchman names like Josiah Pettigrew or Obadiah Hanks.
