Yes. From the title screen choose your world, open its settings and edit the World Name field; on a dedicated server the name is set in the server config file and updates when the server restarts. Renaming does not affect your bases, Pals or progress, so you can start with something quick and change it once you know what the save is about.

For a co-op world you host from the game, the World Name is what friends see when they join. For a dedicated server the server name is a separate setting and is what appears in the public browser, but most hosts use the same name for both so players can find the world they were told about. Every name here works in either field.

Many are. Windswept Hills, Moonless Shore, Bamboo Groves, Sakurajima, Mount Obsidian, the Frostbound Mountains, the Sealed Realms and the Wildlife Sanctuaries are all regions on the Palpagos map, and the faction names such as the Rayne Syndicate, Free Pal Alliance and Brothers of the Eternal Pyre come from the game. The pun names combine real Pals like Depresso, Relaxaurus and Kingpaca with new place words.

Private worlds are where the jokes live. Use a shared in-joke, a favourite Pal or the name of the group, for example Brothers in Pals, The Boys Server or Depresso Mondays. If you run several saves, name each one after its base region or play style, such as Cave Base Crew or Sakurajima Springs, so everyone knows which world is which at a glance.
