Alliteration and the ampersand are doing a lot of the work in this genre because they make a name feel like a series rather than a one-off. If the event repeats, build the schedule into the name (Second Tuesday Social, Ten Before Ten, Friday Fifteen) so regulars never have to check a calendar.

Match the register to the attendee. Lawyers and bankers will show up to Counsel & Cocktails; they may not show up to Musical Chairs Mixer. Creative and startup crowds tolerate more play (Hackers & Hires, The Portfolio Party). Keep the name short enough for a nametag header.
