Marvel Team Name Generator

Marvel names its teams in a handful of repeatable ways. Flagship teams get a plural noun that promises action: Avengers, Defenders, Guardians, Invaders, Champions, Runaways. Adjective-plus-team spin-offs multiply from there, which is how one Avengers roster became West Coast, New, Young, Secret, Mighty, Uncanny, Dark and Savage Avengers. The X-line uses the letter X as a brand: X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, X-Statix, X-Corporation. Government and space groups use acronyms (S.H.I.E.L.D., S.W.O.R.D., A.I.M.) or corps and guards (Nova Corps, Imperial Guard, Winter Guard).

Villain teams follow their own logic: numbers (Sinister Six, Frightful Four, U-Foes), sinister collectives (Masters of Evil, Brotherhood of Mutants, Black Order) or a menacing thing (Serpent Society, Wrecking Crew, The Hand). Fan-created teams sound most Marvel when they pick one of these moulds and commit to it, whether that is a plural noun (The Firebrands), a numbered squad (Voltaic Six) or a corps (The Halo Corps).

The list opens with canon hero and villain teams from every era of Marvel Comics, then adds original squad names in the same styles for OCs, RPG parties and Strike Force or Snap alliances.
