Garbage Pail Kids Name Generator

Garbage Pail Kids names have a very specific formula that Topps has used since the first series in 1985. Each card pairs a gross, violent or absurd gag with an ordinary kid's first name, and the two halves have to rhyme, alliterate or make a pun. Adam Bomb is a pun (atom bomb), Nasty Nick is alliteration, Leaky Lindsay is alliteration plus a description of the art, and Up Chuck is a name hidden inside a phrase. Every original card also came in two versions with the same picture and different names, which is why fans know both Blasted Billy and Adam Bomb.

The humour targets what a ten-year-old finds hilarious: bodily fluids, monsters, garbage, explosions and mild disasters. The names are short, usually two words, and the descriptive half is doing the joke while the kid's name keeps it grounded. Rhymes (Fat Matt, Puke Luke, Splat Pat) land harder than plain alliteration; puns on real names or phrases (Jay Decay, Frankie Stein, Dyno Mike) are the gold standard.
