An evil faction name works when it tells you three things in a breath: how the group is organized, what it believes, and how it wants to be seen. The organizing noun carries the first part. Order, Covenant, Circle and Conclave signal an old secret society; Legion, Host, Warband and Company signal soldiers; Cult, Choir, Church and Faithful signal zealots; Syndicate, Cartel, Consortium and Directorate signal money and bureaucratic menace. Picking the wrong noun is the most common mistake, because a warband called a Consortium feels off even if the rest of the name is strong.

The image half should be one concrete thing with a story behind it. The Red Ledger implies debts being collected; The Hollow Covenant implies a promise with nothing inside; The Drowned Star implies a fallen god. Single vivid images beat stacked adjectives every time, and unusual nouns such as tithe, parliament, procession, census and ministry make a faction feel specific rather than generic.

Finally, think about who is speaking. Factions that believe they are righteous use clean, hopeful names like Unity Through Silence or the Bright Inquisition, and outsiders give them the ugly nickname. Groups that embrace villainy, like the Unmakers or the Carrion Court, wear it openly. Both approaches are useful; the gap between self-name and street-name is often where the best lore lives.
