Drider Name Generator

Driders are drow who failed a test of Lolth, the Spider Queen, and were transformed into centaur-like creatures with a dark elf's torso on a giant spider's body. Because every drider began life as a drow, drider names are drow names. Drow given names are built from sharp, sibilant syllables: Vierna, Zaknafein, Quenthel, Jarlaxle, Halisstra, Ryld, Danifae. Common building blocks include prefixes like Akor-, Bel-, Chal-, Dris-, Ilm-, Nath-, Quar-, Ssz-, Vier-, and Xull-, and endings such as -afae, -afein, -inil, -istra, -lin, -rae, -ryn, -tar, and -zt. Apostrophes mark glottal stops and appear often in House names (Do'Urden, Hun'ett, Barrison Del'Armgo, Faen Tlabbar).

What changes after the transformation is status. Most driders are cast out of their House, so many drop the surname entirely or keep it as a bitter reminder. Others gain epithets from the drow who fear them: the Web-Cursed, Lolth's Regret, the Eight-Legged. Some driders embrace the curse and adopt titles like Broodmother or Webwarden, especially in editions where Lolth grants driderhood as a blessing rather than a punishment.
