Cancer Blog Name Generator
Honest titles for blogs kept through cancer
Generate titles for a personal blog kept through cancer, by the person diagnosed or by a partner, parent or caregiver. The 1,000 names run from treatment diaries such as Notes from the Infusion Chair and Chemo Days and Good Days to breast cancer blogs (The Pink Chapter), living-with titles (Scan to Scan), family updates (Dear Ones) and wry ones (I Had Other Plans).
About cancer blog names
A cancer blog often starts for a practical reason: it is easier to write one update than to repeat the same news in a dozen phone calls. Many then turn into something more, a record of treatment, a place to think, or company for a stranger sitting in a waiting room somewhere else. The title sets the terms. It can be plain (The Family Update), specific (Notes from the Infusion Chair), wry (I Had Other Plans) or quietly hopeful (The Long Way Through), and the tone is yours to choose.
The list follows the people who keep these blogs: the newly diagnosed, people in chemo, radiation or surgery, a large group of breast cancer titles, other cancers named plainly, people living with metastatic disease, life after treatment, partners, parents and caregivers, young adults, faith and gratitude, and letters to family. Pink and ribbons appear only in the breast cancer titles.
Fighting words are a personal matter. Some writers want Gloves Up, Notebook Open. Many others, especially people who will be in treatment for the long term, would rather not be called warriors at all, so most names here leave battle language out. None of the titles promises an outcome. Pick the one that sounds like you on an ordinary Tuesday.
How to choose cancer blog names
- Choose a title that can outlast one phase. Chemo Tuesday Dispatch is exact for a few months of treatment, while Between Appointments or What Comes After still fits when the schedule changes.
- Decide who you are writing for before you settle on a tone. A blog for relatives can be as plain as How Mom Is Doing, while a blog for strangers in the same situation can carry more of your own voice, as in Well, This Is Inconvenient.
- Use battle words only if they are yours. If fight and warrior do not sit right with you, most of the list does without them, for example Showing Up Anyway and Stable Is a Beautiful Word.
- If you write as a partner, parent or caregiver, let the title say so. The Passenger Seat or Notes from the Children's Ward tells readers whose view they are getting and leaves the patient's own story theirs to tell.
- Think about privacy before you publish. A title with a full name, a hospital or a child's name can be found for years, so ask everyone it names first, and search the title yourself to see whether another blog or a charity already uses it.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good name for a cancer blog?
One that tells readers what they will find and sounds like the person writing it. Notes from the Infusion Chair and Scans and Small Joys describe a treatment diary, Life After the Bell suits a blog begun when treatment ends, and Still Here, Still Me puts the writer ahead of the illness. Short titles are easier for family to remember and pass on.
Are there names for breast cancer blogs?
Yes, they are the largest single group in the list. Some use pink or the ribbon, such as The Pink Chapter and Pink Was Never My Color, and others describe the experience plainly, such as After the Mastectomy or A Breast Cancer Diary. Titles for other cancers, from Lymphoma, Written Down to A Prostate Cancer Diary, name the illness and leave ribbons out.
Do I have to use words like fight or warrior?
No. A small number of names use them for writers who want them, but most do not, because many people, particularly those living with metastatic cancer, find that battle language does not fit their experience. Living in the Meantime, Today Is the Plan and Scan to Scan are examples that leave it out.
Can a partner, parent or caregiver use these names?
Yes. There are titles written from beside the patient, such as The Passenger Seat, Holding the Clipboard and My Dad's Chemo Driver, and titles for parents of a child in treatment, such as The Fold-Out Chair. Before you start, agree with the person who is ill on what the blog will and will not share.
