Futuristic country names do two jobs at once: they must sound like a place someone lives, and they must tell the reader what kind of future they are in. Real nations are usually named after a people, a river or a founder, and then wrapped in a formal title such as Republic, Federation or Commonwealth. Post-collapse or near-future settings favour geography instead: Cascadian Free State, The Mekong Compact, Trans-Siberian Union tell you exactly which borders were redrawn. Off-world colonies borrow the same habits, which is why Tycho Sovereignty and Ceres Mining Concord feel plausible.

The strongest names are short enough to become an adjective (Vantaran, Kalvaran, Solarian) and specific enough that a map maker could place them. Pick a name, then decide who lives there and what they call themselves.
