Ysoki Name Generator

Ysoki are the small, quick-witted ratfolk of Starfinder, found in the warrens of Akiton, the hab-blocks of Absalom Station and the crew quarters of half the ships in the Pact Worlds. They are natural mechanics, technomancers and scavengers, famous for cheek pouches stuffed with spare parts and for talking faster than anyone can listen. Paizo's iconic ysoki mechanic is Quig, and the sample names in the Core Rulebook (Fiskit, Bibbiv, Tebbiq, Yikkit, Zeevek, Oblimz, Pikchuri) set the pattern: short, clicking, playful names built from hard consonants and doubled letters.

The sound is bright and chittery rather than harsh. Doubled k, b, z, t and v (Tikkit, Bozzet, Skrivv, Dabbet) give names a skittering rhythm, and endings in -ik, -it, -et, -iv and -o keep them quick to say. Many ysoki go by a single name their whole lives; others take a family or warren surname, especially those raised in the large Akitonian warrens. Because ysoki prize cleverness and shared history, nicknames are common and usually earned: Two-Wrench, Cheekpouch, Nine-Lives, Hotwire. A ysoki crewmate may be introduced by nickname alone.
