Tokyo Revengers Name Generator
Delinquent names, street nicknames and gangs for OCs
Generate Tokyo Revengers names for OCs and fan gangs: canon characters with their nicknames, from Manjiro Sano (Mikey) to Ken Ryuguji (Draken), plus original delinquents like Daiki Morimoto (Moridai), gangs such as Shibuya Yozakura and Ikebukuro Fenrir, division ranks, epithets and duo names.
About Tokyo Revengers names
Tokyo Revengers gives its delinquents two names. The first is an ordinary Japanese full name and the second is a short street nickname, clipped from the name or taken from a trait: Manjiro Sano is Mikey, Ken Ryuguji is Draken, Haruki Hayashida is Pah-chin, and the Kawata twins are Smiley and Angry. Some nicknames join a piece of the family name to a piece of the given name, as Masataka Kiyomizu becomes Kiyomasa, and some shorten a surname, as Inui becomes Inupi and Kokonoi becomes Koko.
Gangs go the other way and take grand or foreign names: Tokyo Manji Gang, Valhalla, Black Dragon, Tenjiku, Moebius, Brahman. Inside a gang a member is known by a post, such as captain or vice captain of a numbered division, and Black Dragon counts its leaders by generation.
The list includes canon characters, nicknames and gangs from the series, given for reference and not as a complete cast; the FAQ below names them. Every other name is original and meant for fan characters: delinquents as a full name with a nickname in parentheses, girl characters, gangs in Japanese, mythic and English registers, division and generation titles, epithets in the manner of Invincible Mikey, and duo names. Names are written given name first, the order most English-speaking fans use.
How to choose Tokyo Revengers names
- Build the nickname from the name. Clip the given name and add a short ending, as in Ryota Onodera (Ryo-chin) or Shota Igarashi (Sho-yan), or join the start of the surname to the start of the given name, as in Daiki Morimoto (Moridai).
- Use a trait nickname sparingly. One Smirk, Sleepy or Turbo stands out in a crew where everyone else goes by a clipped name, the way Smiley and Angry do in the series.
- Give the gang the grand name and keep the members ordinary. A plain full name next to a name like Shibuya Yozakura or Ikebukuro Fenrir is the contrast the series runs on.
- Place a character with a post. First Division Captain, Vice Commander or Flag Bearer tells a reader where the character stands before any backstory.
- Keep one name order for a whole story: given name first for English fan fiction, family name first if you are imitating the Japanese text.
