Tamaranean Name Generator

Tamaranean names come from the DC Comics planet Tamaran, home of Starfire, and the royal house sets the template: Koriand'r, her sister Komand'r, brother Ryand'r and parents Myand'r and Luand'r all end in -and'r, with the apostrophe marking a swallowed vowel before the final r. Those names also translate into English epithets, which is why Koriand'r is Starfire, Komand'r is Blackfire and Ryand'r has been both Wildfire and Darkfire; a Tamaranean hero name is usually a literal rendering of the birth name.

Outside the palace the apostrophe is optional. Galfore, Karras, Kalista and Taryia are plain two- and three-syllable names built on hard consonants (k, r, d, th) and open vowels, the Titans TV series added Faddei, and the comics gave us Ph'yzzon and the goddess X'Hal, showing the apostrophe can sit right after a leading consonant instead. Tamaraneans traditionally carry no family names; rank is shown by title (Grand Ruler, Princess) and lineage by reputation.
