Bosmer names in The Elder Scrolls are the shortest and most rustic of the elven styles. Where Altmer names run long and stately, wood elf names are usually two or three syllables and end on a crisp consonant: Faendal, Niruin, Malborn, Gwilin, Anoriath, Elrindir. Common endings include -al, -in, -en, -on, -eth, -il and -ir; female Bosmer often take -wen, -iel or -eth (Nimriel, Carwen, Methredhel), while male names lean toward -in, -or and -al. The consonants g, gw, th and r appear far more than in Altmer names, giving Bosmer names their slightly earthy, Celtic-adjacent feel.

Like Altmer, wood elves rarely use surnames. When one appears it is normally an adopted human family name (Wyndelius Gatharian) or a clan or place indicator in ESO. Bethesda's Bosmer also occasionally borrow names that overlap with Breton or Dunmer stock, since Valenwood sits between many cultures, but the core sound is unmistakable once you have heard a few.
