Skyrim Redguard Name Generator

Redguard names in The Elder Scrolls draw on the culture of Yokuda and Hammerfell, which Bethesda writes with a distinctly Arabic and Persian flavour filtered through fantasy spelling. Skyrim's Redguards include Nazir, Saadia, Kematu, Ahlam, Amren and Saffir; earlier games gave us Cyrus, Iszara, Tobias and the legendary sword-singers Frandar Hunding, Divad Hunding and Makela Leki. Given names are typically two or three syllables with strong a, i and ee vowels and consonants like s, z, k, d and r. Many are used alone with no surname at all, which is why so many Skyrim Redguards go by a single name.

When a family name does appear it usually takes one of two forms. Older, Yokudan-descended families use a personal name plus a father's or clan name (Frandar Hunding, Gaiden Shinji). Modern Hammerfell Redguards, especially in Elder Scrolls Online, use place-based surnames with the particles al-, at- or af- meaning "of": Iman al-Suda, or a name like Rashid at-Taneth for a man from the city of Taneth. Desert warriors and Alik'r mercenaries sometimes carry epithets earned in battle instead.
