Science Podcast Name Generator
Show titles for labs, explainers and curious listeners
Generate science podcast names for every format: lab humor like The Control Group and Error Bars, journal club titles like Preprint Party, kids' shows like The Question Jar and field titles like Dawn Chorus Dispatch. There are 1,000 show titles to reroll.
About science podcast names
A science podcast title has two jobs: it tells listeners which corner of science you cover, and it tells them how serious the hour will be. Borrowed lab vocabulary does both at once. The Control Group, Error Bars and Reviewer Two promise an insider's sense of humor, while Ask a Postdoc or How Do We Know That promise patient explanations for people who have never set foot in a lab.
The list is built in sixteen styles so that rerolls stay varied: method and lab terms, physics, space, chemistry, cell biology and genetics, evolution and field ecology, earth and climate, ocean and fresh water, brain and behavior, math and statistics, history of discovery, kids and family shows, science news and journal clubs, grad school and lab life, interview and explainer formats, and everyday science and engineering. Field titles such as Dawn Chorus Dispatch or The Thermocline suit a narrow show; format titles such as Three Papers and a Coffee travel across topics.
Before you build on a technical term, make sure it means what you think it does: a pun on a wrong fact costs a science show its credibility in the first second. Then say your favorite aloud and search the podcast directories for it. We have not checked any of these titles against existing shows.
How to choose science podcast names
- Pick the format before the pun: a weekly news roundup wants a title like Findings Weekly or The Friday Paper, while an interview show wants Tell Me About Your Research or Dear Researcher.
- Say the title aloud three times. Listeners pass shows along by voice, and a word like stoichiometry gets misspelled in the search box.
- Use a technical term only if you can explain it in one sentence in your trailer. That explanation also makes a good cold open.
- For a kids' show choose a warm, plain title that a six-year-old can ask for by name, such as The Question Jar or Sink or Float.
- Search Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube for the exact phrase before you design cover art. Nobody has checked these titles against existing shows.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a good science podcast name?
A good title signals the field and the tone in a few words. Method terms such as Pilot Study or Working Hypothesis sound like insiders talking shop, while question titles such as What Do You Study invite newcomers. Keep it short enough to read on small cover art.
Are these science podcast names already in use?
We have not checked them against any directory. The 1,000 titles were de-duplicated and screened for filler, and new podcasts launch every day, so some will match a show that exists. Search the podcast apps for your exact pick before you commit.
Which names work for a kids' science podcast?
Look for simple, warm titles built on a question or a hands-on activity. Why Is the Sky Blue Today, The Bug Jar Report, Kitchen Sink Experiments and Goodnight, Galaxy are all in the list. Skip jargon a child cannot say, and test the title on the age group you want to reach.
Can I use a technical term as my show title?
Yes, and many strong titles are exactly that: Ground State, Carrying Capacity and Selective Pressure are examples from the list. Make sure you use the term in its real sense, because your first listeners will be people who know the field. A subtitle on the cover art can explain it for everyone else.
