About sanrio names
Sanrio names come in two clear flavors. The Japanese-designed characters are usually a food, texture or personality word fused with a cute ending: Pompompurin is a puffy sound-word plus purin (pudding), Cinnamoroll is cinnamon plus roll, Gudetama is gude-gude (lazy) plus tamago (egg), Pochacco comes from pocha-pocha (chubby), and Kuromi is kuro (black) softened with -mi.
