Red Rising Name Generator

Names in Red Rising tell you a character's Color before they say a word. Golds carry Roman or Greek first names (Cassius, Virginia, Apollonius, Atalantia) joined to their house by the particle au: Darrow au Andromedus, Sevro au Barca, Octavia au Lune. House names are Latinate and dynastic, so Augustus, Bellona, Telemanus, Julii and Raa all sound like they were carved over a senate door. Other Colors use the chemical-symbol particles of the Society's caste chart: ag for Silvers (Regulus ag Sun), ti for Grays (Holiday ti Nakamura), xe for Blues (Orion xe Aquarii), cu for Coppers, si for Greens, vo for Violets.

The low Colors break the pattern on purpose. Reds are known by their clan and mine, so Darrow of Lykos and Lyria of Lagalos sound like people, not property, and their first names lean Celtic and plain: Eo, Kieran, Narol, Dago. Obsidians use Norse-flavored names and earned epithets, such as Ragnar Volarus, Sefi the Quiet and Alia Snowsparrow. Pinks often go by a single soft name like Evey, Matteo or Theodora.

To build your own Gold, pick a classical first name, invent a house that sounds like a Roman gens and pair it with au. Add a battlefield nickname, Reaper or Goblin style, only once the character has earned it.
