Pimp Name Generator

The pimp name is a comedy archetype more than anything else, and it comes almost entirely from 1970s blaxploitation cinema and the pulp memoirs that inspired it. Iceberg Slim's 1967 book gave the genre its founding voice, and films like The Mack (Goldie), Willie Dynamite, Super Fly (Youngblood Priest) and Starsky & Hutch's Huggy Bear fixed the look: velvet suits, wide-brim hats, and names that promise smoothness and money in equal measure. Later, characters like Bishop Don Magic Juan and Katt Williams' Money Mike turned the archetype into pure parody, which is where most people encounter it today.

The naming formula is consistent. Take a texture or luxury word (Silky, Velvet, Cashmere, Diamond, Goldie, Sugar, Sweet), an alliterative or old-fashioned given name (Sylvester, Cornelius, Marcellus, Delmar), and optionally a fake title (Bishop, Duke, Reverend, Sir). Nicknames about clothing and cars work too: Cadillac Sonny, Fur Coat Freddie, Gator Shoes Gus. The best examples sound like a man who introduced himself in the third person and meant it.

These names are written for laughs, costume parties, tabletop and GTA-style roleplay, throwback-themed events, and period crime fiction. They are meant to be enjoyed as pop-culture caricature, not as a guide to anyone's actual profession.
