Ogryn Name Generator

Ogryns are the huge, loyal, dim-witted abhumans of the Astra Militarum in Warhammer 40,000, and their names sound exactly like they would if a three-metre-tall soldier picked them himself. The most famous Ogryn, Nork Deddog, sets the template: a short, blunt first name and a nickname-style surname that reads like a slurred phrase (Dead Dog). Darktide's Ogryn player character, Bo Bogsnak, and the many Ogryns of Gaunt's Ghosts and the Necromunda underhive follow the same pattern of one or two thick syllables, heavy on hard g, k and b sounds.

Ogryn society is simple, so names are practical. Many Ogryns go by a single name (Grunka, Krug, Lugg) with a descriptor added by their squadmates: Big Rokka, One-Ear Nubb, Bunk Little-Brother. Rank matters too. Bone'eads are Ogryns fitted with augmetic implants to make them smarter, so a Bone'ead prefix marks a squad leader, while Bullgryns are the heavily armoured shield-and-maul variant. Regimental slang creeps in as well, which is why names like Skullkrusha, Wallbasher and Ripper Gun Rokka feel at home in the Guard.
