About netball team names

Netball is a seven-a-side court sport, and its team names run on its own vocabulary. Every player wears a bib with a position on it: GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD or GK. Those letters, and the words behind them, carry most of the jokes here: Centre of Attention, Wing Attack of the Clones, GD Luck, Sitting on Defence. The bibs themselves stand in for "big" in names like The Bib Bang Theory and No Bib Deal.

The second source is the whistle. Umpires call contact, obstruction, footwork, held ball and offside, so social teams name themselves after their habits: The Footwork Faults, Permanently Offside, Three Feet Please, The Three Second Rule.
