My Pride Name Generator

My Pride is the animated lion series by Tribbleofdoom that follows Nothing, a lioness born with a bad leg and named for what her pride expects of her. Its naming system is simple and distinctive: every lion carries a single, plain English word. Cubs are usually named for nature, weather, colour, or a birth trait (Fire, Feather, Rain, Sky, Sunspot, Hover), and adults may be known by a compound name that records something they did or something about their body, such as Quickmane, Powerstrike, Farleap, Proudmane, Silentstep, or Sharptongue.

Because names describe rather than decorate, they double as backstory. A lioness called Farleap must have made a famous jump; a male called Proudmane is defined by his display; Nothing's name is an insult that she gradually turns into an identity. Prides are named the same way, after a founding trait, deity, or leader: Sun Pride, Moon Pride, Waterhunter Pride.

For a My Pride OC, pick a cub name first, then decide whether your lion has earned a compound name and what event would have given it. The compound formula is almost always adjective plus body part or noun plus verb, so Longclaw, Brighteye, Rainbringer, and Duskrunner all fit the world without being canon characters.
