Album Name Generator

Album titles come from a handful of sources. Many are lyrics or track titles promoted to the cover (Born to Run, Nevermind, Rumours). Some are a single word that names the record's mood or thesis (Blonde, Lemonade, Ctrl, SOUR). Others are found phrases: a sign, an overheard line, a place, a private joke that sounds better than it should (Rain Dogs, Unknown Pleasures, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea). What almost none of them are is a description of the music. Nobody titles an album 'Ten Rock Songs About Love', because a title's job is to give the listener a feeling before the first note.

The best titles are concrete rather than abstract. 'Roses in the Freezer' or 'Cold Coffee' or 'Screen Door' put an image in your head; 'Eternal Emotions' does not. Two- and three-word titles built from an ordinary noun and an unexpected pairing (Salt Years, Bad Weather Friends, Ghost Town Choir) are the workhorse of indie, folk, and rock records, while pop and hip-hop tend toward one word or a short declarative statement (Never Better, Not Yet, Never). Country and Americana like place and weather words; electronic and ambient records prefer clipped, technical, or geographic terms.

The titles here are written to sound like real releases across all of those genres. Scan for something that fits your record's tone, then run it through the artist-name-plus-title test on a streaming page and check that it isn't already sitting on a famous sleeve.
