TV Network Name Generator

TV network names come in a few distinct generations, and picking the right one instantly dates your fictional network. The broadcast era gave us long corporate names that shrink to initials: a Broadcasting Company, Broadcasting Corporation, Broadcasting System or Television Network fronted by a national, regional or lofty word (Continental, Commonwealth, Heritage, Atlantic Seaboard). Public broadcasters follow the same logic with Public Television or Public Media after a region (Arcadian, Ozark, Gulf Coast). Cable channels of the 1980s and 1990s went for a single punchy word or initialism, and streaming-era brands are short coined words with no suffix at all (Vireo, Kaleido, Nuvo, Zenko).

Genre networks tell you what is on before you tune in: Sports Network, Kids, Comedy, Crime, Classics, Horror, Faith and Outdoors are the usual markers, often with a playful lead word (Puck Drop Hockey Network, Fright Night Network, Bake Shop Network). Internationally flavored names swap in Télé, Canal, Rede, Kanal or Televisión, and science-fiction settings use grandly planetary words such as Orbital, Galactic or Outer Rim Broadcasting.

Use these for a network in a novel, screenplay, sitcom or game, a fake channel for a mockumentary, a student broadcasting project, or a real local or online network. All names avoid real broadcasters, but check trademarks before painting one on a studio wall.
